WebToonPool is a manga and webtoon reader built for people who love comics. We care about keeping your data private and being upfront about how the app works. This page explains what information we collect, why we need it, and what you can do about it. We've tried to keep it readable. No walls of legalese.

1. What We Collect

Account Info

When you sign up, we ask for a few basics: • Username • Email address • Password (we only ever store a hashed version, never the actual password you typed) • Your subscription tier (Free, Bronze, Silver, or Gold)

How You Use the App

Like most apps, we log some activity automatically: • Basic request logs (which feature was used, when, and whether it succeeded) • Comments you leave on manga or chapters • Purchase and subscription history • Your download history (this lives only on your device, not on our servers)

Device Info

We pick up a bit of technical context too: • Device type and OS version • App version • IP address (only used to catch suspicious activity, nothing else)

2. Why We Use It

We use what we collect to run the app and keep it working properly: • Keeping your account secure and your session active • Processing purchases and managing your subscription • Showing comments and letting the community interact • Sending you a heads-up when something important changes (security issues, policy updates, etc.) • Getting back to you when you reach out for support • Spotting and stopping abuse or fraud • Meeting our legal obligations

3. Ads

If you're on the Free or Bronze tier, you'll see ads. These are served through IronSource (Unity LevelPlay), and their SDK may collect: • Your advertising ID (IDFA on iPhone, GAID on Android) • Device identifiers • General location (country or region, not your precise location) • How you interact with ads Silver and Gold subscribers don't see any ads. The SDK isn't loaded for them at all. Want to turn off personalized ads? You can do that in your phone settings. On iPhone: Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking. On Android: Settings › Google › Ads.

4. Storage & Security

Your account lives on our servers, which are secured with standard protections. Your auth token is kept in your device's encrypted storage, never in plain text. Downloads and reading progress are stored in a local database on your device only. We use HTTPS for all connections, bcrypt-hashed passwords, and JWT tokens for authentication. That said, no system connected to the internet is perfectly bulletproof, and we won't pretend otherwise.

5. Who We Share Data With

We don't sell your data. Full stop. We do share limited information with a few services that help us operate: • Apple and Google for handling subscription payments • IronSource / Unity for ads (Free and Bronze users only) • Infrastructure providers that keep the app running Everyone we work with is contractually required to handle your data responsibly and only for the purposes we've agreed on.

6. How Long We Keep It

We keep your account data as long as your account is open. Request logs are cleared after 90 days. If you ask us to delete your account, we'll remove your personal data within 30 days, unless there's a specific legal reason we're required to hold onto something.

7. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to: • See the data we hold on you • Correct anything that's wrong • Ask us to delete your account and everything tied to it • Limit or object to certain uses of your data • Get a portable copy of your data To make any of these requests, use the "Request Account Deletion" option in your Profile settings, or reach out through the Support section. We'll respond within 30 days.

8. International Data Transfers

WebToonPool operates globally, which means your data may be stored or processed outside your home country, including in places with different data protection laws than where you live. When we transfer data internationally, we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place (such as Standard Contractual Clauses for transfers out of the EU/EEA) to ensure your information stays protected.

9. Kids

WebToonPool isn't for children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU/EEA). We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under that age. If you think a child has created an account, please reach out and we'll take care of it right away.

10. Changes to This Policy

We'll update this policy when needed. If something significant changes, we'll let you know inside the app before the change takes effect. Continuing to use WebToonPool after an update means you're okay with the new version.
